Hope that you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with family.

For those of you who may not have heard, our pony Casey passed away recently. She was nearing her late 30's and is our cherished "angel pony."  She was very much loved as we has the opportunity of watching her teach others about riding as well as the joy of being with horses.

EAGALA - Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association- from the Mason - Dixon Line completed their second visit to LeCheval Stable to share and gain CEU's for instructors of equine assisted therapy and activities.

Many thanks to Natalie Cerchio, coaching support, who facilitated a 2 hour "Have You Herd?" workshop on NOV. 19,  for LeCheval's volunteers, compliments of  Marya Pecukonis, director and lead instructor.

GirlScout, Morgan Miller and her crew successfully completed a new mounting ramp for her Silver Award.  Eagle Scouts, Jacob Kempic and Jack Mansfield crafted an outdoor structure to house bedding and built a new walkway for individuals needing wheelchair access.

Many Thanks to Maryland Open Show Series for their recent donation to LeCheval Stable to help support participant scholarships. Lisa Albrecht and Joan Bosman  provide individuals with schooling show opportunities while hosting charities each month chosen by  Junior Board Members.

Congratulations to Special Olympics athletes, families and volunteers.  LeCheval Stable celebrated our 9th year participating in  state games.
Athletes, Jeremy Hahn, Nicholas Boxall, Jonathan Hanks, Daniel Kirkland, Alexandra McIntyre, shined in their trail, barrel, equitation and musical kur classes all bringing home bronze, silver or gold medals! Congrats also to Armand Kates-Offord who trained this season discovering that he and his brother, Sheldon love this sport!   Congrats also to past athletes who trained but have moved out of state
this year.  Mia Luoma now resides in Florida with her wonderful family.  Many thanks to Gena and Wayne who have supported Howard County Special Olympics for many years. We also say goodbye to Maggie Abello, who competed in Special Olympics in the past and will be moving to Pennsylvania. Anna, her sister, is also an equestrian!
We celebrate Dr. Ed Pecukonis who is our talented driver and all around support of the management of LeCheval Stable, including lead EAP therapist!  We value his daily commitment to the program!

Shout out to all the volunteers, who have diligently supported LeCheval in the past and present. These include the following from the volunteers with the most years of service to the newest volunteers.

LeCheval welcomes new pony to the stable.  Many thanks to the "Baker Family" who have recently donated a winter white, fluffy gelding named "Santa."
He has happily joined his new herd and loves his new stall built by Mr. Ed over the winter break!  Lisa Baker has worked with riders at LeCheval Stable for the past five years and will enjoy introducing this little guy to some very special riders!
